To be able to take what I’ve learned in radio and apply it to someone who was willing to be open and give me the chance to mold and shape their ideas was wonderful!

Mr. Jean the owner of L.Y.F.E. and the publisher of Our Voice – The Magazine wanted to do a radio show but needed direction in how to get started. I was brought on to help develop the content, music, scripts, and flow of the one-hour long broadcast to be featured every Tuesday morning at 10 am. We began to work together on Our Voice – Talk Radio in January of 2016.

We decided that the show would feature people and stories from the Rochester community and the surrounding areas. Classic R&B, some hip hop, and more, as well as discussions on local issues, would be our focus. We met once a week to talk about the guests he wanted to book for the show and I secured and confirmed each guest. I also selected the music and put together the playlist for each show.

His progression from the beginning to the end took some time but he accomplished everything he set out to do. Let me just say that if you are not comfortable talking on the microphone, it takes time to get comfortable with it. Also, learning to run the board and handle all the technical issues that crop up can be challenging when you are the only one in the studio. Mr. Jean took my critiques, worked on them, and by the end of our time together he was hitting his stride, and was comfortably leading Our Voice – Talk Radio.

Consulting for

Our Voice Talk Radio

Working with Our Voice Talk Radio required the delivery of organizational activities, scheduling guests, developing promotional material, recording dynamics, and production work. Together over 75 shows were produced. Hired in December 2015 until April 2018, the partnership required weekly meetings to prepare for each show. During preparation, Aria Virtual Consulting coached the host, provided feedback on performance, trained on how to use the audio board, provided the selection of music, script writing, and more. Together the show was able to find success as it achieved the goals that were stated upon the initial consultation meeting. A highlight of the show is it's nomination for an award by the Rochester Black Men Achieve Award Ceremony otherwise known as ROC BMA.
